Small Business' to support this Christmas

1. Indie Makers
Indie Makers is a Yorkshire-founded gift shop in the Leeds Corn Exchange that opened in 2021. They're one of our favourite shops in the Corn Exchange!
They sell products from independent small businesses all over the UK, it's the best shop if you want to support local artists.
The shop sells a variety of products, including Leeds-themed merch and pop culture pieces (including Taylor Swift-inspired designs).
They also sell SO many amazing prints, so no matter your style, it's a great place to browse, either for yourself or for gifts.
2.Queer Lit
Based in Manchester, Queer Lit is Europe's largest LGBTQ+ bookshop.
Growing from an online store, they opened a store in the Northern Quarter inside Social Refuge in October 2023.
With such a large variety of books, Queer Lit have so many categories; nonfiction, fantasy, biographies, and children's stories to name a few. They also categorise their books by sexuality so you can easily find the stories you're most interested in.
If you're a Manchester you can visit their cosy store IRL, if not you can support them online.
3. Noff & Nana
Our Neighbours! Noff & Nana (named after the owner's dogs) opened their shop in Afflecks this year and are right next to us! They started the business selling unique, funny dog merch for you, accessories, treats, and lots more for your furry friends.
Noff & Nana have rebranded and now also sell; stationery, homeware and funny clothing designs inspired by the owners' own dry, sarcastic sense of humour.
4. Trupig Vegan
We love a business from Sheffield! Trupig Vegan is a vegan chocolate shop. Ran by couple Lily & Ian, who say they 'love chocolate nearly as much as we love animals.' The couple began gifting vegan truffles to friends and family, inspiring them to start Trupig Vegan in 2016.
Nearly 10 years later, they have won over 5 great taste awards. They now sell a variety of vegan treats such as chocolate bars, cake pots, 'trublerones' of course ... truffles as well as their own merch. I'm desperate to try their tatser box!
5. That's Sew Laura
We LOVE That's Sew Laura! She focuses on slow fashion and creates colourful, fun, feel-good hair accessories, jewellery and clothes. We've had their headbands in stock and they are the COMFIEST headbands you'll ever wear!
When Laura was pregnant, she wanted vibrant and fun maternity clothes. This inspired her to start creating hair accessories. Laura and her mum created the sweetest family business. They have shops at Red Brick Market in Birmingham and Liverpool.
Famous across Manchester and the North West, Afflecks is the Manchester home of small businesses. The emporium has over 60 shops nestled in the building across its 3 floors, from jewellery, clothes & plants (and lots of incense) they have it ALL!
The Corn Exchange in Leeds is a stunning Grade I listed building that houses lots of small businesses behind its colourful doors! They bring a sense of community to the bustling city, bringing together 'creatives, collectors, cooks and craftspeople.'
